Poppy

My little niece Poppy (aka Popsicle) had heart surgery on Friday to close a congenital heart defect which is very common in babies with  Down Syndrome.

The 3 or so weeks leading up to surgery were a massive struggle with very little sleep for parents or baby! But after some struggles the surgery went better than expected and her recovery has been amazing and smooth. She is at Great Ormond Street so I was able to visit today. Katherine's mum was there too and this picture is them having a fun moment. (My mum went yesterday).

She is so content and smiling a lot. Oh and they are getting sleep! Honestly she is so utterly precious!
