Make Mine Melograno
Had some good weeding and dead-heading time this morning before it got too hot to work. Planted out a row of chard plants—the variety is pink lipstick. Can't wait to see what that really means. Cut back on the very invasive but lovely nasturtiums—they were choking out a couple of young trees. We’ve taken to eating the bright flowers in our salads every night; they taste a bit like peppery honeysuckle and are so gorgeous against the different greens of the lettuce. Add a couple bits of watermelon or strawberry and it’s like painting with food.
