2025 Wednesday — UkeLadies

Mr. Fun & I visited the UkeLadies rehearsal today. One of those sweet ladies has loaned both of us a ukulele and we neither one have experience playing a stringed instrument.

So we are coaxing our fingers to move in ways that feel quite foreign. Our left hands are learning how to make chords and right hands are learning to strum. Actually it feels like both hands are rebelling.

The best part of all of this is that the ladies were all so welcoming and encouraging and we were both just "faking it," you know "air ukulele" because we didn't want to mess-up their music.

I thought it was very helpful -- I'm going to keep repeating to myself "fake it till you make it;” while strumming along quietly. I know the four most often used chords, but making them quickly enough is a challenge. I'm just trying to figure out strumming . . . it looks so easy.

What we both know is that we love music.
