A Colourful Character

On my walk this morning, this fabulous insect dropped on to the steps (of the footbridge) in front of me. The sun really made it sparkle.

Apologies for the dark shadow top left..this was from one of the steps…I have tried to lighten it a bit!

I believe it is a Hawthorn Shield Bug .. there are hawthorn trees alongside the steps!
