Moorhen chick

The moorhen chicks are growing up fast..  I saw this one on the reserve this morning getting, I think, rather confused by instructions from hysterical mama who was shrieking from the reedbed.  But isn't this a really delightful young face?  The other lovely sighting there was of a spectacular Emperor Dragonfly though it was completely overwhelmed by a horrid background too complex to get rid of.  I shall have to try again, perhaps tomorrow, and hope for better luck.

Not a lot else about today.  A trip into town to drop off K's prescription request at the doctors', but mostly it's been too hot to do much.  I did have my walk early to avoid the worst of the heat but I think tomorrow will be even earlier..
