A Tail but not of a Whale

Away today & tonight with a colleague. Travelling down south to the outskirts of London to do our tasks for work, we were very grateful to be put up in a hotel for the night to save on making the journey back 'oop north on the same day. Long distance truckers we are not & hats off to them for the mileage they do on a shift. Thankfully the drive went smoothly with not too much traffic, the business we were there for went brilliantly and the weather was hawt hawt hawt.

Deciding to find somewhere for a cuppa & to sit in some shade for an hour before checking in to the hotel, as karma would have it we saw a sign for the Brooklands Museum and reasoned "Mmm!"

With not much time left we raced around the exhibits and both concluded that it was worth returning to if either of us were in the area again. As well as the famous banked curve (of which not enough fuss was made of by the museum tbh) there were old bicycles & motorbikes, vintage racing cars, old London Busses, and a selection of aircraft associated with the site. There was also some shade and a lovely cold bottle of Pop in their cafe from where to have our debrief!

Blip is of my favourite view of the Vickers VC10 - the largest jet airliner produced in the UK, designed and built at Brooklands. There is something very 'Thunderbirds' about that T-tail and four engines sat beneath.

Afterwards after checking into our rooms, I scurried off for a dash in & out of the hotel sauna and swam a few relaxing lengths of the pool before having a nice meal with my colleague, sat outside in the warm evening air. Aaaand relax *^_^*
