Artist at work
Yesterday, W attended a 'willow weaving' workshop with the intention of creating a sheep. Although she and the other participants got well on with their creations there wasn't time to finish them, so she brought home some extra willow to complete the job.
This morning she was out in the garden adding some artistic touches, and I think there is probably one more morning's work before it is complete. I have to say that already it looks remarkably 'sheep-like', and I'm guessing from the floppy ears it might be a Herdwick. If I'm authorised, I'll blip the completed sheep when it is finished.
Although she really enjoyed the day and is pleased with her creation, I don't see a future of her crafting large numbers of animals. I think her view is along the lines of 'been there, done that', unlike the decorative glass making workshop she did last year (see the sun-catcher hanging from the arch) after which she signed up to do a more detailed course. Sadly, the tutor died suddenly so nothing more came of it.
