Tough day

It's been a long time since a volunteer shift was this tough. But. In the midst of the most harrowing conversation, just as I thought I might need help from another volunteer; a "thank you, you've made me feel safe, maybe if I can tell you I can tell someone else?"

Some things should sting, some should stay with you for a while.

The universe rewarded me with a productive afternoon and lots of Missy cuddles.
