Fish and Feet

The designated rat disposal team has upped and left for Poitiers so I had to find my own solution (which had to preclude any involvement on my part) to get rid of the eviscerated rat I found on my bedroom rug at dawn.

Karl did the deed with a minimum of fuss.

By lunchtime the temperature was tipping 40, but we sat in the shade of the high trees at the coin sauvage, where we ate bagels and drank white wine and Lizzie told the birds to go back to school.

School was far from my mind as we drove on through the forest around the lake.  A tanned nomad called Sébastien sold me a copper ring, the fish suckled our feet, Lizzie dunked herself and Willy served us cold beer and ice cream.
