Banksia beauty

The beautiful Banksias are flowering in the many parks/native bush lands in our area, so the perfect choice for Flower Friday.
The Banksia is native to Western Australia and generally flowers in the Nyoongar seasons of Djeran and Makuru (autumn-winter). A truly unique tree with its serrated leaves and beautiful blooms which are actually a cluster of flower spikes that fully bloom over time - the yellow in the lower half of my image are fully bloomed.
You may notice some resemblance to the Protea (not a native of Oz) but that’s likely because they belong to the same plant family Proteaceae.
