Green

The green, green grass of home can hold dangers for dogs. I blipped what I thought was wall barley around this time last year. I was mistaken, it was meadow barley, an annual which is smaller and finer. I've photographed it on the right above on the correct page in my Observer's Book of Grasses Sedges and Rushes. Wall barley, a perennial is on the left. This, together with our native barren brome and the non-native foxtail are the most dangerous to dogs. I think I've cut all the wall barley in the garden.

It's the first time I've seen and photographed a common emerald moth.
