Heatwave
Didn't sleep well last night as it was too hot and I hadn't got around to taking the fans out of storage.
Did the Tesco shopping in the morning. I don't know how we managed before we had air-conditioning in cars.
I clocked 31.8C in the shade in our back garden at some time this afternoon. It feels airless when you are out in it.
Took Terry for his CT scan at the hospital this afternoon and nipped home to await his call to pick him up but then found a text from Boots to say my prescription was ready so I went to get it.
Traffic was thickening up a lot and I was in a couple of queues. Queues were ever worsening on my way home and I thought I might as well go nearer to the hospital a surely Terry would be ready soon.
I ended up going an extremely roundabout route to avoid getting in some of the long queues and then I parked up at a parking spot which was only a few minutes from the hospital but was where I could have a little walk.
I set off on the walk and soon gave that idea up as it was way too hot for walking - it felt oppressive.
After picking Terry up I made sure to get three fans out and so we now have a little relief from the heat indoors.
I was going to water the gardens this evening but I was shattered and had a nap - after which I couldn't be bothered with the watering!
Extra is of a ladybird I spotted on our drive gates this morning - not the usual colour you see.
