Eggs and Bacon

It’s been another very warm day so I’ve been trying to be inside or in the shade as I felt a bit frazzled after the warmth yesterday.

I made an early morning trip to the allotment to water and pick strawberries. The remaining black currants look so plump and tasty but I decided to leave them for another day. I’m thinking I might make some cordial with them so have been researching recipes.

Later I made a Swedish rye bread. I really enjoyed the one I made a few weeks ago so made another. I think it will become one of my staple foods.

These hot days take on a different rhythm and with it being light so early and late, the days are long. This evening we walked Merlin in the meadow at 9pm. The yellow bird’s foot trefoil (also known as ‘eggs and bacon plant’) are in bloom and form golden swathes amongst the grasses.

Another warm day is forecast tomorrow, then it’s getting a little cooler. Phew!
