2 3 5

(I've done a few backblips before this for those interested, including my 100th blip)

Today was the last full day of Sophia and I living with Sadie and Flora, as Sadie moves out tomorrow and Flora on Sunday.

So we went to Spoons to have food and play cards and chat. Sophia had a bunch of questions to ask everyone about the last 3 years which was nice.

We played 2 3 5, but as a 2v2 so it was more like 5 7. Before each game, one person will look at part of their hand and choose a suit to be the trump suit. Then, everyone will play a card 1 by 1, and it has to match the suit of the first card put down. The highest card wins. If you don't have a card of that suit, you can play any suit. The trump suit will always win if you can play it, so if the trump suit is diamonds, and someone has played the ace of spades but you don't have any spades, you could play a 3 of diamonds and win that hand.

You have to win a certain amount of hands based on where you are in relation to to person who picked the suit. So in 2 3 5, the person who picks the suit has to win 5 hands, and the person clockwise to them has to win 3. If you make less than required, you will have a card picked off of you at random at the start of the next round for each hand you were short of. If you make more than you needed to, you will be picking that many cards off of whoever didn't make what they needed, and you can choose to keep that card and give the other person a card of your choice from your hand.
When we do it as 2v2, you have to make 7 if your team picked the suit, or 5 if the other team picked the suit.

In this game, the trump suit was hearts, which I had none of, and only 3 cards above a 10. Not a good hand at all. If one of us takes a picture if our hand, we all know it's going to be either really good or comically bad. My teammate, Flora, could tell from the look on my face though that this was not going to be a good round for us..
