The second half of life..

By twigs

Just because.....

....I like them.  There's something about snowy peaks, shadowy valleys, Mother Earth's folds that feels so peaceful, so heart-warming and so homely.   Add to that the golden tones of a parched lowland and it's multiplied.  went and checked out the swallows along the canal but nothing really happening down there so sitting and looking at the mountains was a great alternative.

Made a trip out to Omarama in the afternoon for some supplies and was pleased to have been able to (possibly) help save a farmer's sheep who had got herself stuck in a boggy pond.  I tentatively hopped over the fence to check things out but quickly decided she needed *real* help, not just a bit of coaxing.  A short drive down the road to the nearest farmhouse where I found the farmer then back to the sheep.  A few minutes later she was freed from the mud but hardly able to stand - the weight of the water her wool was carrying or numbness in her legs from cold, or maybe a bit of both?   A couple of minutes later she was (very sheepishly!) making her way back to the flock, though I think the farmer was considering moving taking her into the sheds for the night.  Happy to have contributed to possibly saving her life.
