Bindweed

Nothing to show for my Friday, photographically, except this shot of bindweed, which I only took to ID on my phone. 

I spent a couple hours at our newly established community garden in Leesburg, pulling out ivy that is encroaching from one side. The flowers we planted are establishing themselves nicely, and the Black-Eyed Susans will be the next to bloom. When we moved across to another area of ivy, intending to remove it, we realized there was a thick sea of bindweed on top, smothering over all the nearby shrubs. It was pretty satisfying to pull, but if I'd stayed any longer, I felt like it would grow over me too (bindweed monster!).
