Tobbedansers festival...

Tobbedansers is a nickname for the people of Harlingen. The name refers to the work of the Huguenots, who had fled to the Netherlands from religious persecution in France in the 16th century. Fabric dyers settled in Harlingen. These fabrics were treated in large barrels with the dye indigo by stamping on them with their feet so that the fabrics were colored evenly. The workers were called 'tobbedansers' and that later became the nickname for all Harlingen residents.

Now they make a kind of barrel and glide into the water and ring a bell...
