Tatting revisited

Hot and humid today. We had a little rain, maybe thunder later. I’ve spent the day hiding in the cool with my books and sewing.

Five years ago - June 2021, when I was just starting 52 Tags, Anne suggested we try tatting. I remember struggling with it but managed to produce the tag that’s in my picture. Interesting that this was just after lockdown, we had had a week in Hythe and seen family for the first time in months. So long ago.

Anyway the latest word in our current 52 Words project is ‘dangle’ and Anne suggested we try tatting again. I was a little reluctant as I had not done any since making the tag five years ago. However, I found the tatting needle I must have bought then and I had a go.

After a few attempts I found I was much more confident and I produced these ‘dangles’ - much better I thought than previously, although then I was doing picots (little loops) and joining them together. How I will incorporate these in a design I haven’t decided yet, but I do like them and will do more.
