My Best Side
I had a bad night's sleep, waking up at 4:30 and finally getting up at 5:45 after the pigeons did a tap dance on the roof for about 10 mins! I opened up the windows and doors until near 8 as there was initially a lower temperature outside than in. I topped up the bird feeders, the suet balls in particular are being eaten very quickly at the moment. Then I got this photo of a blue tit fledgling showing me a profile view. I walked into town for when some shops opened at 9, it was already around 25C whilst I was out. I felt so sorry for the ladies in the charity shop, like many shops in Holt they have no air con and would be working on a busy day in a heatwave with very little time for a break. I knew I couldn't be out on such a hot day or doing any jobs inside, so I watched Joker: Folie a Deux which unfortunately was disappointing. Then I watched both the semi-finals at Queens, some very good tennis played and the right players won. A shame Jack Draper has been playing whilst suffering from tonsillitis, let’s hope he recovers for Wimbledon. The official temperature at the Met Office weather station at nearby Weybourne at the coast reached 31C mid to late afternoon. My outside thermometer read 33.9C, but that was on a wall even though in the shade, so I guess Holt reached 32C.
