Diary of an Edinburgher

Bin Find No 4,678

No, not two hot days in a row! Of course not... The haar arrived, and it was cool all day, though by late afternoon, there was sunshine. But too late for our planned sitting out in the back garden with our visitors.

Abi and her mum came for lunch. JR made an epic tomato nd caremalised onion tarte tartin. She hasn't made one of these since freespiral was visiting, many years ago now. She always asks for my suggestion for dessert, and I always say,
'Waitrose lemon tart'! Easy peasy, and delicious.

Abi is almost off to her new home - Copenhagen. So that was a surprise for her mum when she arrived for her usual yearly visit. But she's been a good help!

I did manage to take Archie round the Links this morning, and we found the oddest bin find yet:

One pair of gold sandals.
One pair of attachable bat wings.
One pair of child's crutches (with flashing lights).
One novelty handbag.

When Abi went by later, the crutches had been taken...

Forgot to mention yesterday the momentous Assisted Dying Bill was passed. I watched much of the morning's debate, and I was very glad they saw sense, though it was closer than the first vote.
