A lovely day
Started with trying to make sure mom was up and had breakfast but she took so long in the bathroom that I ended up leaving breakfast ready for her but I had to leave because today was a birthday lunch for Barbara’s 79th.
It was mostly just family there but it was lovely to see the kids (Barbara’s grand kids all of whom I taught in my class) and hear what they are up to now. And then everyone was just so relaxed it was a lovely atmosphere to be in.
And most of all Barbara was very happy to have everyone there.
The only other person I knew that came was Chris Rodley. It was lovely to see her too.
We all just sat round in the garden, and drank and ate and chatted and drank some more regardless of the rain that periodically blew across. Only ever a few drops then it dry up again.
We stayed till 5pm.
Home for a little while then I took the girls up to ER for a swim. Leslie, Tine, Tats (although she didn’t swim), Becky, Claire and Kinwar ( not her name but that’s what sticks in my head!).
It was just beautiful. The temp when I set off at 8:30pm was 27C. And the water so lovely and warm.
Two boys were at our swim spot, just heading in for a swim, as we arrived. They ended up doing a little ball throwing for the girls.
Both girls swam a lot. And we got a really good swim too. It was just so lovely I didn’t want to get out.
I just LOVE this warm weather. :)
Oh, and the second photo is how I found the two girls when I went back into mom’s room having left a note for the carers. Scout squeezed into Jodie’s bed! Haha! I take it they are tired.
