Summer Solstice

Up at 5.30 to go with my friends to a special Qi Gong session at the Stenness Stones (older but fewer than the ring of Brodgar). It was cold, grey and windy- but a very enjoyable and friendly session with a great teacher. Much of the rest of the day spent indoors, reading and chatting. It was so cold. Unexpected (by me) after warm sunny day yesterday, but locals are used to it. We went to Stromness town hall (extra) for a St Magnus International Festival event - the Resol string Quartet who were wonderful. Much of the rest of the day it was raining as well as cold, so we abandoned a fire on the beach, stayed in, watched another film. It was weird to me that it was still light at 11.15pm - above is my walk through Stromness to the little place where I’m staying.
