Lake Ohau
.....but seen from a place I haven't been to before.
Day began, as expected, with a frost. Not too hard but cold enough to let me know it was definitely there. Headed off to explore a part of the area I haven't been to before - 'behind' Twizel towards the south-eastern end of lake Ohau. Really quite rocky and rough (as to be expected given the area's glacial origins) and much of it not at all well suited to Gerty van! It was whilst having lunch that I opened up a news channel only to hear that the USA has attacked Iran......I'm speechless. I was glued to the live post until it went off air - I was left with a feeling that thankfully, I've only ever experienced once before in my life - in 1982 when we woke to the news that we were effectively 'at war' with Argentina over the Falklands Islands. That incident lasted 74 days. I feel 74 days would be a good outcome for today's events but I fear it will escalate.
