Princess Ellie
The summer and the pollen is back with a vengance. At least for a couple of days if the forecast is anything to go by. It was time for my shift at the food bank again today - the first under new management! We were taking bets on whether the weather would mean we were rushed off our feet or absolutley dead. Turned out it was the latter. I had a good day in the warehouse making up parcels and putting orders away which made a nice change. Being a bit careful with my arm where I think I sprained my wrist at the climbing wall last week.
We did some food shopping and generally had a lazy afternoon for the rest of the day. It was the village Highland games and one of the kids on our estate seemed to have been chosen to be one of the 'court' for the day. The highland games don't seem to be as big of a deal as Lanimers, but this family had done a good job of the house decorating.
For the first time in a while we had an evening ot and went to St Luke's and the Winged Ox to see Mammal Hands as part of Glasgow Jazz festival. Really lovely venue in an old church with stained glass and an organ in the back, with nice chilled seating around tables. We got on some big stools at the edge with a whiskey barrel for a table. Very civilised and nice to be out listening to some good music for the solstice.
