C'est fou

When we'd asked the lads if they wanted to visit Puy du Fou, we were surprised by how enthusiastic they were. After all, they've been twice before. And we wondered if they might feel it was aimed at young kids.

But not a bit of it. They were mad for spectacular sort-of-historical re-enactments.

The new King Arthur show involved the ground rising forty feet in the air,  a talking wall and a horse emerging from an underwater chamber alongside the round table. Brilliant, bonkers stuff.

We'd seen the Gauls v Romans amphitheatre show before, but the emergence of a burning Roman warship took things to a whole new level.

On our way home we stopped to eat in Les Herbiers. Didn't look like much was happening on the main street, but the market square was jumping.
