Lavender for lunch

Many thanks for all the favourites for yesterday’s in-flight wasp, as always very appreciated.

A correction on yesterday’s extra, with thanks to gen2 for identifying the moth as a Scarlet Tiger Moth, another new variety.  I should have realised the markings are totally different.

JJ cleaned out the sparrow boxes today.  One nest in each of the boxes built by blue tits and one egg in two of them.  Very strange and sad that something went seriously wrong.

We have both common and German wasps visiting the bird bath and getting a bit narky with one another, but today’s image is a high key buff tailed bumble bee on lavender.
