A walk in the park
Blipping at 4.20 pm with blue skies and sunshine but heavy rains showers on and off for a large part of the day, windy too. We timed it well to get out for an hour’s walk this morning and managed to stay dry. Never having been before we had a walk in Dawsholm Park, it’s not very exciting but I had heard it was good for bird spotting. We mainly saw magpies and crows so I won’t be dashing back. There certainly was no sign of the parakeets that I have heard mentioned by people before. The most interesting thing was the little clumps of Himalayan balsam draped over tree branches. A regular walker must pull a few up each time they are there. Good for them as it is an invasive species but unfortunately there are vast swathes of the stuff throughout the park. My husband pulled up a few clumps too in solidarity.
