Kalle Päätalo
One of Finland's best-loved writers is Kalle Päätalo. He was a local man whose childhood home has been preserved and is now a museum. It is a few kilometres outside the village. We went there.
Extras:
Beautiful orange flowers lit up the window of the main room. It also glowed outside the window.
After the visit to his home/museum we went back into the village to see the memorial sculpture.
On one side of the village square there is a large open book (shown from the back and from the side on my photos) and on the other side of the square book pages.
Look, there is someone on a book page. Is it the spirit of Päätalo or an imposter. Do not worry, it is just my husband who is always ready for fun.
