Goodbye after 15 years
This morning I handed over my lovely Audi A3 cabriolet which I bought new in 2015. It is the best/ most expensive car, when new, that I have ever had. However although it has done less than 45,000 miles things are likely to go wrong and I need a five door car for transporting grandchildren etc.
However apart from the scuffed alloys, a peeling back bumper and a few scratches you can’t see in the photo it is in good condition and has been serviced regularly by the same garage.
Luckily I have sold it to a nice local young man who is 27 to replace an expensive leased car he had, his Dad sorted the sale out with me. It made me think about what car I had when I was 27…..my first car was a minivan which had windows put in the side and a back seat! Then I had a white Mk3 Triumph Spitfire which I thought was very cool and went well, this was followed by a Mk 4 Spitfire which did not go well so then I traded it in for a new Renault 5 …and after that a series of sensible cars one of which I bought so my children could share and learn to drive eg Ford Fiesta. Luckily my husband had a company car for many years until he retired.
See extra for my Spitfire with my parents dog as a passenger! A very poor photo as this was transferred from a slide. One of my first cameras I only took slides with at that time. A couple of years ago I did convert them all but the colour has faded on all of them…just as much as on the photos from that era.
