Hidden from the deer

A couple of years ago I planted a tayberry and a gooseberry plant on the allotment. Both times the fruit has disappeared before I got to it.

Tgis year I had allowed grass to grow around the plants, with other things taking up my time, so when I started to cut the grass back I was pleasantly surprised to find my first crop of both fruits that I could get before the deer.
