Life is a Challenge!

MONO MONDAY - CURVES

Now that we have a Smart Meter, I try to do my washing overnight, or at least to have it finished by the time I get up - although of course, being retired, that can vary.  However, today, knowing that Mr. HCB was going to Bristol to watch cricket, I did get up quite early - for me that is!

I was thinking about tumbling the washing, but then decided that as it was very windy, and sunny too, some of it could be pegged out on the line.  I don’t often peg my washing out, mainly because it makes my back ache reaching up to the washing line - in fact, this is the first time for two years - and despite what some Blippers do, DO NOT colour co-ordinate my pegs - life is too short to do that!

All the washing was pegged out and blowing well by 8.15 and having just checked it now at 10.10, it is dry, so quite a lot of money saved this morning.  I took several shots and decided after looking at the theme, that there were plenty of curves, if not in the washing then in the clouds - and as Mr. HCB said, “Even if you’re off-theme, at least if you do a mono shot, then you are 50% right!”  How right he is.

If you look at the light and shade in this shot, you will see why Mr. HCB tends to go out into our garden early in the day - in the recent heatwave, he would have expired if he had had to work in full sun all day long.

Mr. HCB was a little concerned because the M4 motorway was closed from Swindon to Chippenham, so he had to find another route to get to Bristol.  He was going to go via Royal Wootton Bassett, but decided that it would be “rammed” if things were not going on the motorway, so went instead via Cricklade and Malmesbury and made it in good time.  He knew there was no parking at the ground but I have just spoken to him and he is fine, and ready for a good day’s cricket.

Meanwhile, I’m at home alone and looking forward to enjoying some time journalling, listening to music and cooking.

Hope you all have a good day - and if you have done any washing, hope it dries well!  M xx

P.S.  For those of you reading this who remember Graham Kendrick - and I remember him from my youth - I found this wonderful video on YouTube last night, entitled “50 Years of Graham Kendrick’s Worship Music Ministry”. It was so lovely to find out more about this great Man of God, who has done so much for the Christian music scene over the years.
