At rest

This sarcophagus was discovered during the 1905 restoration of Culross Abbey. As to who was laid to rest in it, a number of possibilities are still being investigated. Two candidates are St Serf and Malcolm, 6th Earl of Fife and founder of the Abbey. Both are reported to have been buried at Culross.
