Fish Mongers

A warm but breezy day. Andy was off early to play golf so Merlin and I had a long walk together this morning. It’s good for just Merlin and I to go out together from time to time so Merlin remembers he needs to listen to me as well as Andy - who regards as his master. We returned home to a cup of tea and peanut butter on toast/bowl of water and peanut butter on Bonio.

With Andy out I had the kitchen to myself so I got to work making a green soup using vegetables from the allotment, and apricot and sultana rock cakes. After eating lunch and several rock cakes I felt sufficiently energised to tackle some gardening, pruning roses and a huge jasmine bush. I then popped to the allotment to pick more blackcurrants - for cordial, and to put in a few late French and Borlotti bean plants. This afternoon the breeze has picked further but it made for an enjoyably refreshing dog walk in the meadow with all the grasses and flower heads dancing in the wind.

I thought I’d spare you more pictures of the meadow so here are the tiles on the shop front of the local fish mongers. I’m not sure of their age or origin.
