York

We had a god trip north and arrived in York around 3pm.  We had a couple of stops on the way including at Gloucester services. I have wanted to stop there for a while as everyone says it is a lovely services - and they were right.

Our home from home is very nice. We have 2 en-suite bedrooms and a lovely big kitchen packed with appliances, including a coffee machine that will be much appreciated. We are just a short walk away from the town centre so after we unpacked and had a little rest we sauntered in to the town for a look around.

There are lots of these grass animal sculptures around the cathedral area.  We got stopped at one point as a film crew was busy working away.  We heard ‘action’ and then cut but couldn’t get close enough to see what was going on.  One of the crew said they were filming for a channel 4 programmes called Patience.  I just looked that up and it is a crime series so I may have to check it out later https://www.channel4.com/programmes/patience.

We ended the day on about 13k steps so after the car journey, fresh air and steps we should all sleep well tonight
