The back way to work

Stopped for a quick shot of a crane statue that overlooks a pond along the far drive into the staff parking lots. 

Sunday night was busier than usual. Still a couple of covid and flu cases, very sick folks. With the heat outside, we went through lots of ice packs up at triage. Monday morning, it was already over 80 degrees as I drove home at 7:30. The heat index is forecast to be extreme over the next two days. I'll be missing a lot of the hottest hours, happily, as I'm working tomorrow night again.

Good family dinner tonight, kids chatting about their current interests in "The Magnus Archives" and a game called "Still Wakes the Deep," figuring out how to get Daniel to the metro tomorrow for his second commute into DC (last week was all remote in the aftermath of the army parade). Pork tenderloin and mashed potatoes and salad (back to store-bought lettuce since ours finished now), blueberry muffins.
