Sombra

We played duplicate bridge today at Jim's house on Guemes Island. We had to take the early ferry to get there. The day was gorgeous. I played with Janet, a lovely gal whom I enjoy. We played really badly and were sure we'd get our $1 back at the end. But no such luck. One other pair was even worse than we were. ;-)

Jim and his wife have quite a large piece of property on the island, which is wonderfully rural in character. In the front they have a large pen with two Miniature Mediterranean donkeys. This is the gray one called Sombra. I found them quite humorous and friendly.

We took the ferry back to Anacortes and had dinner with Dave and Nora and their friend Dave S. The food and the company were wonderful. Arvin and Helena stayed home and had their own feast of cheese and mushroom ravioli.
