Going Places

And we’re off, me and the ever-curious Jnr are bound for a rendezvous with friends at one of the Southside’s effortlessly cool café haunts.

A gleaming, brand-new, fully electric First Bus: all silent purr and eco-glory, still radiant in its showroom innocence. Never have I ever travelled on such a squeaky clean bus!

Alas, we know the honeymoon won’t last. La-de-dah. Soon enough, this pristine marvel will face its baptism of fire ha, that is…the nocturnal chaos of Glasgow’s late-night / last bus home scene. A baptism of cider, kebabs, and questionable life choices awaits. One can only hope it emerges with its dignity (and upholstery) intact… but let’s be honest, we’ve all seen this movie before. Here’s to hoping it makes it through the weekend with its panels unscathed and its soul still sparking.
