Dregs

We’d a leisurely morning before checking out and birling back up the A1. Only got thrown off kilter by the one roadworks diversion so that wasn’t bad, just a mini detour! Brought a cold back with me, courtesy of the air-con in the pub last night methinks, but that’s what Lemsips are for. Fortified myself with a couple of glasses of red late on. And a Lemsip.
I’d missed the sad news of Ian McLauchlan’s death at the weekend; famed Scottish captain and British Lion, feared sports teacher at Broughton, a Kingsknowe GC ‘C’ champion (which he loved!) and one of our fourball until his knees gave up on him. All round great guy.
