We were supposed to spend the majority of the day across in Mold watching the YFFIN local music carnival unfold, the line-up of which was organised by my good friends and fellow sporadic blippers at theAbsurd. But because the sun decided to make an appearance my Dad came round to fix the back gate and the doorframe to the outside privy and, well, it just wouldn't've been fair to leave him there on his own without tea and biscuits.

Not that we had any biscuits mind. Or tea, come to that.

We got away about 4.30pm just in time to miss most of the acts I really wanted to see and to miss my mate and his little girl dancing her nappied bottom off. We also had to leave just as the gigs ended and the aftershow party was about to kick off, but that's third-trimester tiredness for you (plus the fact her pressed-upon bladder was close to bursting after the powers that be had decided to remove the (very clean!) portable toilets a good hour or so earlier).

Had a top day though, proper first class. Hats off to you Andy and Sophie for helping organise a cracking family day out. And a FREE one at that :)

**Info on theAbsurd: My mate and previously-known blipper Dyrt Mynci decided a year ago to leave his job, go freelance and in his spare time try to help and encourage local unsigned bands and poets, performance-makers and artists, and in the process nurture the local talent in and around North Wales (whilst getting a kick out of doing it on a personal level too). Working with a good dollop of ethos they operate on a not-for-profit basis, an idea which has grown from nothing into what is quickly becoming a very well regarded online magazine and creative community. This summer they were asked to help organise the line-up for the aforementioned music carnival, have appeared on BBC radio several times, run a FREE monthly gig night and have lots of other kick-ass ideas for the future. Check out some of the music and poetry archives dotted around their site, there's some AMAZING amateur talent on there...
