Melancholy Thistle

Apparently this was used years ago to treat depression.

An early start to make scones and finalise food for a CP meeting and out at 9.00, a tad early I thought forgetting the road works along the way.  Heading out wasn’t too bad and two of us met three CP employed colleagues from the mainland before going into the meeting. One was up at 4.45 to catch the ferry over. A good meeting as always, driving home there was a hold up for road works, luckily the chap on the walkie talkie was chatty, he was from Doncaster and had an allotment…  and ducks.

Along the roadside patches of this beautiful thistle appeared, so many wild flowers, it was a joy to drive along there, even if there are roadworks.
