Above And Beyond...

93

After getting granddaughter Amelia to school, we stopped at The Welsh Whopper Roadside van (Nr Pontypool, South Wales UK) for me to get us a cuppa and a bacon roll. We had the cycles on the back of the car to cycle to my dads from Tongwynlais, near Cardiff but it was constant drizzle.

Arriving at our intened start it was pouring with rain, so drove straight to my dads in Penarth as it's his 93rd Birthday today and I had a card and present for him. A couple of hours later, as we were leaving, Mrs BB took a photo' of me with my dad to mark his 93rd. He's amazing for his age, still driving, on social media and totally independent!

We stopped in Newport and did a twenty mile cycle to Cwmcarn Scenic drive along the canal towpaths. A bit drizzly and blowy it was still enjoyable.  Getting back to The Wye Valley, the sun was out and a pleasant 22C proving to me yet again why it's one of the best fruit growing regions in the UK, and why there are so many Orchards and Fruit Farms here!
