Look up my nose

Playing on the saying “to look down your nose” this sculpture is based on the noses of Alexander Graham Bell and his father who showed disdain for sign language users. They thought deaf people should lip read and use voice to communicate.
It’s in the 1880 THAT exhibition about sign language currently on at the Welcome collection. They also have an interesting display of zines which I found very moving.
