Barbara

I went into town today for a haircut, and was taken by the statue of Barbara Castle, outside of the cathedral.  She was formerly MP for Blackburn for 34 years, and a minister in Harold Wilson's Labour government in the 1960s and 1970s.

If you don't know of her then she is worth looking up. Among her many political achievements, she introduced the Equal Pay Act in 1970, which is what she is carrying in her arms. She also paved the way for future generations of women in politics.
