Pretty purple petunias...
Try saying that after a few Pimms! :-))
All the petunias I planted in pots a few weeks ago are at their absolute best just now. I was convinced we would come back to them being all dried up due to the hot weather, but it was rainier here than in Northumberland, so they're all looking great. Pretty pink petunias in extras.
Today has been a bit of a frustrating day as I have achieved the sum total of zilch!
JR, the man responsible for the Smart Technology in the house was here today (and will probably here tomorrow and Friday too) installing new equipment to replace the Control4 system that we are ditching.
We've had it since we moved here thirteen years ago and we've never really been 100% happy with it. It's been tweaked over the years as technology moves on so quickly but it's now at the point of needing a massive upgrade and we just felt it wasn't worth the money. JR agreed with us and made suggestions for alternatives that he and D have been discussing at length for months! Different configurations of sound systems for TV and music. I didn't get involved till the decision making part a few weeks ago, when JR brought out different equipment to let us try out before making our final choice. Thankfully we both agreed on what we preferred.
Please don't ask me any technical questions as I won't be able to answer, I just know it all sounds fantastic and has simpler controls. I am happy with that :-)
Anyway, I couldn't really get things done as JR was in every room with his ladders and boxes and very complicated looking tool kit, so eventually I parked myself in the garden room and crocheted some more of the heart blanket.
D is at a concert tonight so only myself to worry about for dinner. I never normally cook when it's just me but tonight I had a notion for the first thing I ever learned to cooked - pasta (in this case spaghetti) with some melted butter and grated cheese. Simple and delicious :-)
A final indulgence as when our Tesco delivery arrives on Thursday morning the order of the day will be fruit, veg and lean meat! The party's over!
