2025 Sunday — Friends

On the first Sunday of summer we enjoyed a meal with Robin & Cynthia. They’re spending a couple nights in Cayucos after a few days of helping their daughter’s family relocate near Vandenberg where their son-in-law is settling into working at SpaceX.

Robin & Cynthia live several hours from here at the entrance to Yosemite. Cynthia and I are both retired from the same college. Our friendship started when Mr. Fun (Tom) had the privilege of officiating at their wedding many years ago.

Occasionally our paths align for several days or even a couple weeks. Today our paths briefly crisscrossed so we shared a meal, told some tales, and laughed enough to release a boatload of endorphins; we all exited knowing we’d had a very good time.

We may get to see them again before summer is history, but for now nothing is definite.
