American Beautyberry

I was still feeling a bit battered and bruised this morning so gave golf a miss; instead I got engrossed in the final morning of a thoroughly absorbing Test Match.

This afternoon we enjoyed our regular routine with Sophie when we picked her up from school. The hot topic at the moment is which teacher they are going to have when they move up to Year 6 in September (her final year at Primary school; where does time go?). They get told on Friday but until then playground and social media speculation is rife!

This callicarpa is just beginning to bloom prettily, preparing for the bright purple berries in Autumn. Apparently American Beautyberry is an alternative name.
