King Of The Castle

I spent a bit of time in the garden today. The bird bath and water feature were dry. The roses needed a lot of attention, dead-heading and general tidying up. 

The lavender seems to have come on a treat while we were away though. There were dozens of bees enjoying it, lots of different types. I must get a bee identification book. There were even a few butterflies. I have got a butterfly book so I know this is a small skipper. Earlier than usual this year, but that may be because the Hidcote lavender flowers much earlier than the variety we had before. It was difficult to get this shot, every time I lined him up he was gone! They only live for 20 days so I suppose he can't hang about.

I dipped in and out of the cricket during the day. Disappointing (for me) but it fizzled out into a draw.

Highlight of the day was this morning's Ocado delivery, life is back to normal now.
