Queen of Spain Fritillary…

… in the orchid reserve not far from home. I don’t think I’ve posted one of these before which is odd as in Switzerland they breed throughout the year apparently. At 33° today there was a profusion of butterflies and I have never seen so many Marbled Whites, hundreds in the same area compared to only one Queen of Spain Fritillary that I could see! I think I shall be on a butterfly hunt again tomorrow as I’m trying to “Karcher” the paving around the house and it takes a lot of time.
