Summer Sweden
We seem to be on top of Owl Crag a lot more often than we used to be, but the view is nearly always spectacular and the walk short enough to be done on the way to the shops!
Often the photographed view is the one out to sea or of the whole lake below the crag. However, today I was looking more inland, and thinking how this picture sums up a Swedish summer. The mix of forest, agriculture, blue sky and rain clouds, with some water and a small crag thrown in for good measure.
When we went up the hill it had just been raining and the moss-covered rocks were a bit slippy. On the way down I relaxed a little too much and my feet flew from under me. I crashed down on the granite. Although there were a few bits of me hurting and a cut hand I seemed to have got away lightly and we continued down to the car. Now, a few hours later, I know I've hurt something in the side of my back. Very painful but fortunately it doesn't feel serious.
This morning I baked the loaf I put together last night and it turned out well, as you can see in the extra. The 40g of yeast used in this bread came from what was left in the bottom of a brewing bucket after the beer was bottled.
It made a very tasty loaf which rose well. The crumb is rather tight but that has more to do with my technique than with the yeast.
I'll definitely be saving the yeast from my next beer kit!
This is today's blip but I put up another backblip too, for the 20th June.
