Looks like a weird type of Portuguese Man of War! It's nearly finished and I got a lot of those ends sewn in during Knit & Natter this afternoon. Someone mentioned that the local charity shop, the Daisychain Benevolent Fund Trust shop, was advertising for volunteers so I went over the road afterwards to  see.

I said I could do Wednesday afternoons. The manager came out to see me, and it was agreed that I'd go in for a couple of hours to see if we're suited, but that'll be a week on Wednesday since I'm not free next week. He said he thought he recognised me from the Alvaston Mind shop, which is good as I suppose all charity shops run in similar ways.

Then I called at the allotment on the way home and watered... using my hosepipe, which I don't think is allowed at the moment, but I can't carry watering can after watering can so..... I wont be able to get there tomorrow so I gave most a good soak, leaving the kale and broadbeans to fend for themselves. The reason for the ban, although it's obviously not a ban just a request, is that the latest water bill was astronomical, but why doesn't the committee just raise the rents a little?
